Opposition border protection spokesman Michael Keenan said Labor government's election victory has emboldened people smugglers.
"Clearly what's happened since the (Aug. 21) election result is the people smugglers have realized that the Labor Party's been returned and that they are not going to change their policies to do anything to actually drive the people smugglers from business," Kennan told Australia Associated Press.
